Practical surveying support across the project.

HEXCO is a surveying and commercial consultancy supporting contractors, structure suppliers, property professionals and commercial clients.

Our services are organised into two clear areas: ground surveying for temporary, modular and semi-permanent structures, and building surveying for project, cost and property-related instructions.

01 / GROUND

Ground
surveying.

Utility records, GPR and EML detection, site mapping, ground and anchor-position surveys, and anchor pull testing.

01 / DESKTOP
⌁

Utility searches

PAS 128 Survey Type D searches compiling available statutory utility records for the proposed site.

  • Utility-provider records
  • Site-specific search area
  • Consolidated report pack
02 / DETECTION
⌖

GPR & utility mapping

On-site detection using Ground Penetrating Radar and electromagnetic location to investigate buried services.

  • GPR and EML survey
  • Surface marking of detections
  • GPS/GNSS-positioned CAD & PDF outputs
03 / GROUND
⌁

Ground & anchor surveys

Physical site attendance to review proposed structure and anchor locations and record visible constraints.

  • Structure footprint review
  • Anchor-position assessment
  • Recorded site observations
04 / TESTING
↟

Anchor pull testing

Trial pull-out and installed-anchor proof testing against the project engineer's specified loads.

  • Trial anchor testing
  • Installation proof tests
  • Results & photographic record

Important: Desktop utility searches provide available record information and do not confirm exact service positions. On-site detection, safe excavation practices and the project-specific risk assessment remain essential.

A clear scope.
Useful evidence.

Each instruction is built around the decision, risk or project requirement the surveying work needs to support.

  1. 01

    Define the requirement

Agree the instruction, responsibilities, programme, available information and required outputs.

  2. 02

    Inspect & investigate

Complete the agreed desktop review, site survey, inspection, measurement or testing.

  3. 03

    Record & report

Issue proportionate drawings, schedules, results, recommendations or commercial reporting.

Choosing the right surveying support.

Ground and building surveying scopes are defined around the project requirement and the decisions the client needs to make.

What is included in a utility survey?

The scope can combine a PAS 128 Type D desktop utility search with on-site GPR and electromagnetic detection. The appropriate level depends on the site, footprint and planned ground works.

Why test anchors before installation?

Trial pull-out testing provides project-specific evidence about achievable anchor performance before the main installation. Test loads and acceptance criteria should be set by the project engineer.

Can installed anchors be proof tested?

Yes. Installed anchors can be proof tested to the engineer-defined load, with results and a photographic record issued for the project team.

What information is needed for a quotation?

Send the project or property location, a short description of the requirement, available drawings or records, and the target programme. HEXCO can then help define the appropriate scope.

Can HEXCO support a wider commercial project?

Yes. Building surveying services can include project management, quantity surveying, contract support, inspections and technical reporting, appointed individually or as a coordinated scope.

Start with the requirement

Discuss a surveying
or commercial brief.

Send the project location, requirement and programme. HEXCO will help define an appropriate ground or building surveying scope.
